KALMATRON® KF-aßy AT A GLANCE The inorganic, powdered compound, KF-αβγ, with oscillator’s structure, is applicable as a coating on any structure, using plaster technology or as an admixture with cement materials. This material provides impermeability against liquids and stops radiation leakage.
Uses for KF-αβγ: Application is done by coating the structure or using as an admixture with cement, or it can be injected into concrete, masonry and reinforced concrete. Perfect for use in nuclear plants, nuclear waste storage sites, isolation of civil buildings, roads, tunnels, bridges, mines, sinkholes, pipes, tubes, etc. Technical Features: Odorless gray powder. Upon mixing Kalmatron KF-αβγ with water in a 4:1 ratio, it becomes like a plastic dough with a wet density of 3,500 Kg/m3. Paint can be applied to surfaces coated with KF-αβγ. Four to six hours after application, the surface is waterproof. Provides for radioactive protection immediately upon application. Preparation of KF-αβγ: After determining the area to be covered and the appropriate amount of KF-αβγ to be used, mix in a 4:1 ratio (KF-αβγ:Water) for one minute. Technical Data: Setting time: 15-30 min Hardening time: 35-50 min Slump: 5 cm (2”) Shrinkage: 0.0075% Compressive Strength: 28 days = 350 Kg/cm2 Rupture: 28 days = 75 Kg/cm2 Liquid Impermeability: 100%Benefits: No special preparation of surface required – just wet with water. No sanitary limitation for application personnel. Acceptable for use in humid and wet atmospheric and surface conditions. KF-αβγ is the most workable and inexpensive technology for enhancing Radioactive Resistance. Isolation of structures and environmental infrastructure. Deactivation of civil and fortification infrastructure without staff training. Variability of application methods. Protection level is comparable with lead. KF-αβγ is the only product that is non-toxic, non-explosive and non-flammable for use in this field of structural protection. |
